For the benefit of our children and grandchildren, Otero County is striving to insure an ample future supply of water for both consumption and irrigation. In an effort to begin addressing the ever growing demands put upon our water resources, the county is adopting the New Mexico State Water Plan. This document, as well as the Tularosa Basin and Salt Basin Regional Water Plan 2000-2040 are presented here for your information. In addition, the county has initiated a project to place on our website, geographic information and supporting data concerning water wells in the county.
